Training the fundamentals to
ACHIEVE ENORMOUS GROWTH
SERVICES
I am a National Master (USCF 2200) but greatly enjoy teaching. I believe that every move can be found by choosing the correct thought process, with minimal dependency on skill or talent. My goals are to instill confidence in my students by teaching them these thought processes.
ABOUT US
My name is Julian Lin and I began playing tournament chess in 2008 as a sophomore in high school. I did not start studying chess seriously until I reached the USCF rating of 1800.
For various reasons, I did not hire a chess coach and thus taught the game to myself. After reading many, many books, I have come to the realization that there is a great distinction between having lots of knowledge and knowing how to apply that knowledge.
I would like to teach my students exactly how to improve, which includes which books should be read, what study methods should be employed, and of course which areas to focus most on.
As everyone is different, different methods help different people. My aim is to give each student their own individual optimized study plan.
We focus heavily on how to think in chess – I do not believe in intelligence barriers. The road to master is not easy, and I can attest that not all paths lead to master. The combination of hard work and the right study plan is essential.
Good Luck.
